Macro debugging on PC with alt key down?

Norbert Vischer-2
Hi List,
in an installed set of macros, I can debug an arbitrary macro by keeping the alt key down and then selecting  that macro from the menu. I don't remember where this is documented, but it works on the Mac.
However,  Windows always picks the first macro.  Is there a trick to get the described function on the PC, so that I can debug an arbitrary macro without having to enter a "debug" statement?
