Mark out of focus areas

perspixe
Hello,

I need to batch a folder of images, outputting these images with out-of-focus areas clearly marked (filling these areas with a color, hatch or anything).
A thershold could be usefull to define how much out-of-focus is taken into account.
What function or plugin could I use to do this?

Thanks
Greg

Have a look in the archives, it was discussed several times.
You will not find a suitable solution that can be applied generically without
knowing in advance what your "in focus" image regions look like. For example
it might be very tricky to know if a region is out of focus or has a
homogeneous background.
The ideal in you case might be to apply some of the many autofocus algorithms,
but these require a number of shots a different focal lengths to select the
one that maximises some measure of image sharpness.
