Meassure pupil diameter from video file.

Feel
Hi!
I reseached a litle bit about it but couldn't find a macro to suit my needs and I'm not familiar to Java programming (well, in fact, to programing, at all).

I plan to record pupilar constriction during 2-5 minutes upon light pulses.
The idea is to find a macro or plugin that allows me to measure the pupilar radius or diameter or area.

So, I suppose te macro should:
-Allow me to convert a video recording into frames. (I suppose this can be done via virtualdub, but I'm not so sure that imageJ would be able to understand it).
-Find two concentrical circles (pupil and iris) and meassure the one inside or the distance between both.
-It should be able to write the pupilar values along with the corresponding time or frame values in a file.
-The tool should be able to measure from color images obtained in standard light and infrared conditions(CCTV camera, not sure jet if it is black and white or green, but  I suppose it could be converted easily).

I know, I may be asking for to much. I pretend to use it in a publication about the correspondence of this pupilar constriction and a protein highly responsible of this activity, melanopsin. Having this tool would mean tons of flexibilty and saving numerous animal lifes.
If somebody wants to join I can only offer appearing in the final publication.

Thanks for your time and if someone wants to help, you are highly welcome: uo155943@uniovi.es

Hi Feel,
What you are asking doesn't seem too hard to do at first glanced but a
definitive answer will be much more reliable if we have access to a
sample of your data.

Sincerely,
Gabriel

Feel
Hi!
Thanks a lot for the quick response.
I'm gonna be out for a week, as soon as I come back I'll post a video from human and mice eye recordings.
I'm new to nabble, any recommendation on how to post the videos? Upload to mediafire or youtube?

Thanks a lot to everyone.

Hi Feel,
Youtube and other video sharing site will convert your file to flash and
thus make it more complicated to analyse. Therefore it is better to for
a regular web site (google sites) or a file sharing site (mediafire).
