as far as I know the mentioned measurements are restricted to 2D, i.e.
images not volumes. This functionality is described in the imageJ manual:

(It's always a good idea to read manuals!)
3D analyses are much more involved but you may find ImageJ plugins that
are made for this purpose. I've never needed 3D shape analyses, therefor
I can't suggest where to look, but I would start searching here
