Measure distance between to point of high intensity

Hei guys,

I am Alberto and I m looking for a method to measure the distance between two points of high intensity in my pictures. An alternative would be measure the distance between the center of two elipses.
I would like to find a way to do it automatically and not simply drawing a line.
