Measuring bone lesion volume using image J and 3D Ct scans

njd
Hi,

I'm working on a project where I'm trying to quantify volume of bone loss. I've been using a program called Voxar, which produces 3d CT images that can be saved as diicom, bmp, jpeg or .avi files. I've read about 'stacks' which I could create using the 2d images that voxar uses to construct 3d ones. (but I'm not sure if I could orientate the 2d images as I have to rotate the 3d images in different planes to find the correct view)

Can I use the 3D images that voxar has created in ImageJ or should I create a stack using a series of 2d images? Are there any good plug-ins to effectively quantify the volume of complex 3d shapes in imageJ?

Thanks,

Niall
