Measuring vein density

Hi all,

I'm currently measuring leaf vein density with the drawing tools in Image J. This involves tracing vein lengths from photos taken through a microscope. Just wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to automate this process?

May be the Simple Neurite Tracer (Fiji: Plugins > Segmentation > Simple Neurite Tracer; http://fiji.sc/wiki/index.php/Simple_Neurite_Tracer) can be of use for this.
