We have just made available release 1.1 of Micro-Manager at http://

Micro-Manager (
http://micro-manager.org) is Open Source software for
microscope image acquisition. It controls a large number of
scientific grade cameras, microscopes and peripherals and lets you
take snapshots, do time-lapses, z-stacks, multi-channel, and multi-
position imaging. It runs as an ImageJ plugin and works under the
Windows, Mac and Linux OSs. Micro-Manager is being developed at the
Vale lab at UCSF supported by grants from the Sandler Foundation.
Release 1.1 brings the following new features:
- Multi-position imaging
- Burst mode (fast) acquisition for Andor and PVCAM cameras
- Improved speed in hardware interfacing and the user interface
- Hardware and image-based autofocus
- Support for the latest Zeiss microscopes, Scion, QImaging, Stanford
Photonics cameras, Yokogawa CSU22, as well as improved support for
many other devices
