Modify free hand line?

Xiang TENG
Dear ImageJ Users:

I am trying to depict a part of the cell boundary using the "free hand line" tool. Since the drawing could not be perfect, I would like to modify the line.
However, I haven't found any tool or plugin which could be used for line modification. This means I have to be perfect and I need to redraw the entire line even if some non-intended small hand shaking happens.
Is there anyone could help me? Thank you!

Best,
Xiang

I think your best alternative is to learn how to use the Bezier tool. It allows for easy corrections of problems associated with a shaky hand.

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your reply!
Maybe I haven't stated the problem clearly. This is an example of the problem I encountered.

Figure 1 Original figure
Figure 2 Free hand drawing
Figure 3 Target drawing
I wanna depict the left part of the cell boundary in Figure 1 with "free hand line" tool, which could be the result showing in Figure 2. However, it is not so satisfactory, and the ideal drawing is something like the Figure 3. The problem I have here is that I have to redraw the boundary again and again (in the status of Figure 2) before I could get, if lucky enough, the Figure 3. I am wondering is there any tool available, so that I can use the tool to fine tune the boundary little by little instead of just redraw the whole part of the boundary?

I used to use "brush selection" tool to modify the free hand selection. But the basic requirement for using the brush selection is that, your target should be a close plot, not a line.

Xiang

Hello!

Did you try using Edit -> Selection-> Fit Spline? You can then move the spline points around to fine-adjust your line.
