New Pathology Informatics Scientific Interest Group (SIG) at NIH

Rosenberg, Avi (NIH/NCI) [E]
Dear Colleague,

We invite you to join a Pathology Informatics Scientific Interest Group (SIG).  Below is an outline of the goals of the group:

Pathology informatics is an emerging multidisciplinary aspect of cutting edge pathology that incorporates digital pathology, image analysis and information technology. As such, investigators from disparate fields (computer science, engineering, mathematics and pathology) can contribute significantly.  The goal of this SIG is to create a multidisciplinary environment, drawing from professional expertise within the NIH as well as from the  Greater Washington D.C.-Baltimore corridor. We plan on meeting once a month interchanging invited guests speakers and SIG member presentations. In addition, networking opportunities and listserv-based communication will serve as a primary mechanism for collaborative discussions and brainstorming. If you are interested in presenting or know of someone who might be a relevant speaker, please contact Avi or Jason.  Also, if you know of others who might be interested in attending (undergraduate, medical and graduate students, fellows, scientists, physicians) please forward accordingly.

The link to the listserv subscription page is below, please let me know of any difficulties in joining the listserv:

Looking forward to engaging and productive discussions,
