Hello,
I wanted to announce a new version of my Volume Viewer plugin, that will be presented at the Luxembourg ImageJ conference.
Many request from ImageJ users and other new features have been implemented.
Please feel free to test the new version and let me know about any problems, so I might fix errors before the conference.
Here is a brief summary of what has been changed since the last version:
* Tricubic interpolation methods (polynomial and spline) for higher visual quality renderings
* Variable sampling frequency, dithered rendering (useful for small volumes)
* New volume rendering modes and projections
* Optimizations and multithreaded calculations for faster execution
* 4 different editable transfer functions (1D, 2x 2D and 3D)
* Automatic calculation of transfer functions
* Resizable plugin frame
* Virtual trackball navigation
* All three axes may be set to specific rotation angles
* Multiple data inspection possibilities
This version does not work with old macros yet.
You will find the new version at
http://www.f4.fhtw-berlin.de/~barthel/ImageJ/temp/http://www.f4.htw-berlin.de/~barthel/ImageJ/temp/Volume_Viewer2.jarDownload the jar file and put it in the ImageJ/plugins or the ImageJ/plugins/3D folder and restart ImageJ.
If you need a volume to test the features of the new plugin you might want to use the tooth data set:

Any feedback is appreciated
