New releases of MiToBo and Alida

Hi all,
we are happy to announce the new releases of MiToBo (release 1.1) and Alida (release 2.1).
Mitobo is a collection of tools mainly dedicated to the analysis of biomedical images. All tools
are available as plugins in ImageJ. MiToBo subsumes basic image analysis operations, e.g.
basic morphological operations, filters, image thresholding and image segmentation by active
contours, i.e. level sets and snakes. In addition, it includes specialized, more advanced
applications. The most important ones are:

- [new] NeuronAnalyzer2D, an application for segmentation of neurite regions (not only traces)
  in fluorescence microscopy images and the quantification of protein concentrations along the neurites

- ScratchAnalyzer, an application for analyzing microscope images of cell migration experiments,
  i.e. for quantifying the gap development

- ParticleDetectorUWT2D, an operator for detecting subcellular particles based on wavelet transformations

MiToBo builds on top of Alida. Alida is a framework and Java library, respectively, which eases the
development of data analysis and in particular image analysis algorithms. Algorithms are implemented as
so-called operators for which Alida provides automatically generated graphical and commandline interfaces,
and an automatic documentation of processing pipelines designed based on the operators. Alida also
supports workflow design by shipping with the graphical programming editor Grappa which automatically
imports all available operators as nodes for workflows.
MiToBo takes full benefit of Alida and inherits all of its features including Grappa. The GUIs of MiToBo's plugins
are automatically generated and the use of MiToBo's plugins is automatically documented.
