Hi everyone,
Stealing Nico Stuurman's idea of announcing presence at ASCB...
The Open Microscopy Environment (OME) consortium will have
representatives from many of our collaborative institutions attending
the ASCB annual meeting in Washington this year. If you are attending
the meeting and have any interest in OME software, feel free to stop
by booth #1250 (next to Micro-Manager) to see demonstrations of our
work and talk to us about your needs.
OME (
http://openmicroscopy.org) is a multi-site collaborative effort
among academic labs and commercial entities to produce open tools to
support data management for light microscopy: the OME and OMERO image
servers and related clients, OME data model for microscopy metadata,
OME-XML schema and file formats including OME-TIFF, and Bio-Formats
library for reading and writing microscopy formats and standardizing
their metadata into the OME data model. The current version of our
LOCI tools for ImageJ includes the Bio-Formats importer and exporter
plugins, 4D Data Browser, OME server uploader and downloader, and
Bio-Formats macro extensions.
If these sorts of tools are relevant to your work, please stop by and
see us. We are always enthusiastic to discuss the needs of the
community, explore possible collaborations, and direct our future
efforts.
