Open .sif file

Colin Rickman-3
Hi

Does anybody know how to open .sif files? I just tried the OpenSIF plugin and also Bioformats but no luck.

An example file is here:

Can you re-upload the file?  Dropbox returns an error "The file you're
looking for has been deleted or moved."

Andor Technology created the SIF file format, and is the default
filetype used by their Solis acquisition software.  To open the file
outside of Solis one needs to use Andor's SIF SDK library, which
Bioformats does not use.  SIF  isn't really a "standard" format in the
life sciences; it's useful for saving and inspecting all hardware
metadata (such as to troubleshoot hardware or image quality), but for
general bioimaging you're better off creating files using the TIFF
format instead (note the SIF format is 64-bit which takes up much more
disk space than an 8- or 16-bit TIFF).

But if you have data you need to open outside of Solis, one can
compare the metadata in your Dropbox file and see what version of
Solis / SDK saved it, and consequently what minimum version is
required to open it.

The solution after working off-list was using the latest version of
ImageJ SIF reader, from the Andor website, on Windows (the only
supported operating system of the plugin).
