Overlay ROI with ColorMap

Hi,

    I have two images.  
   
     The first is a "Red Hot"  colormap.  The second is a "Grays" image.  
   
    I want to overlay a ROI from the "Red Hot" to the "Grays" image.   When I try to do this, the outline of the ROI from the "Red Hot" colormap is copied to the "Grays", but I cannot figure out how to overlay the ROI still containing/filled with the colormap values.  

    Can anybody help with this?

Hi AL,

I guess this is might work for you:

- duplicate the "Red hot image"
- Select your ROI in the duplicated "Red hot" image
- Image > Crop Outside
- Activate the "Grays" image
- Image > Overlay > Add Image ... > select the duplicated "Red hot" image, checkmark "Zero transparent" > OK

The Red hot overlay can now be shown/hidden with Image> Overlay > Hide/Show
