Overlay cardiac fluoroscopy images

shashank
Hi,
I am trying to overlay cardiac fluoroscopy images. I can do this by using the overlay command and setting transparency of the top image. I often need to move the top image to line up the overlayed images, now this be done by setting X and Y coordinates while overlaying. The process of moving the top image by putting in coordinates takes a few iterations (undo's) to line them up as desired. I was wondering if there is an option where I can Pan the translucent top image using the mouse (drag it around), this will make the process of aligning the two images much quicker.

Please let me know if this can be done in imagej, or if this topic has been discussed before or any other options.

Thanks,
Shashank

You can create a translucent image selection that can be dragged over another image by using the Image>Overlay>Add Image command and checking "Create image selection" in the dialog box. Upgrade to the 1.45c daily build to be able to drag the translucent image paste the edges of the base image and to have the location of the translucent image displayed in the status bar. Press "y" (Edit>Selection>Properties) to change the opacity of the translucent image.

Hi Wayne,
What is the best way to upgrade to 1.45c? my imagej update does not give
that option and can't find it on the NIH website.

Thanks,
Shashank

Start ImageJ, open the help menu, highlight 'Update ImageJ...' and release the mouse button.  You will be presented with the current stable release.  Click on the upgrade version button for the upgrade version to select prior versions or, at the bottom of the list, the latest daily build beta.

Has something changed with Imagej recently that prevents changing the opacity of slices in a stack?  I used to do it with the method that Wayne recommended but it doesn't seem to work any longer.  Thanks
