PNG pHYS chunk support for image scale?

Dear ImageJ developers,

Is there a chance to get PNG pHYS chunk support for image scale? The PNG specification provides for x scale (pixels/meter) and y scale but so far it does not appear to be implemented in ImageJ.

did you try the "Bio-Formats Importer"-plugin?

In the docs of the most recent version (4.4.6)

        <http://loci.wisc.edu/software/bio-formats>

it is stated that there is "good" support of PNG-Metadata.
