PhotoShop Plug-Ins Possible with ImageJ?

KenO
Hi Curtis,

Thanks for the info!

Are PhotoShop plug-ins possible with ImageJ?  If No are GIMP plug-ins possible?

Thanks again for your help!

Ken

Hi Ken,

> Do not know the difference between ImageJ and Fiji

See the top of http://imagej.net/Fiji for an explanation. Please ask if
anything is not clear, so that we can improve the documentation.

The Windows Fiji downloads include a Java JRE, so you do not need to
install one separately.

However, the version bundled is Java 6 (1.6.0_24) which is very old, with
many bugs since fixed in Java 7 and Java 8. Personally I would advise using
a newer version of Java.

We will be updating the bundles later this year to include a newer version
of Java, as time allows [1]. In the meantime, you can certainly replace the
version of Java in the "Fiji.app/java" folder with your own preferred
version of the JRE.

Curtis

To my knowledge, no one has created a bridge between those respective
programs' plugin mechanisms. Particularly for Gimp + ImageJ though, it
should be doable for a skilled programmer. The main complication is that
the ImageJ adapter would need to use native bindings to call into the GIMP
API. Photoshop presents an additional complication in that it is closed
source.

Re: PhotoShop Plug-Ins Possible with ImageJ?

Ignacio Arganda-Carreras-2
Hello Curtis and Ken,

The SIOX plugin (http://fiji.sc/SIOX) is actually an adaptation of a Gimp
plugin (http://www.siox.org/). You might want to have a look at it.
