Postdoctoral Fellow Position
 
Position Summary:
Opening for a postdoctoral scholar to work in the protein
therapeutics area.  The project will
involve imaging  studies using positron
emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in rodents to
examine protein disposition in the lymphatic system. This is a one-year
fellowship funded through the Center for Protein Therapeutics at the University
at Buffalo. Applicants will be responsible for conducting in vivo studies in mice
and rats to quantitate the disposition of 124I-labeled proteins
using PET imaging.
 
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants should have a Ph.D degree with a background in
the Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Chemistry or a related discipline.
 
Preferred qualifications:
Applicants should be familiar with the following techniques:
PET and MRI imaging, animal studies in mice and rats. Knowledge and experience
with protein therapeutics and lymphatic uptake and transport is highly
desirable.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performance of studies in the areas of protein uptake by the
lymphatic system and disposition in rodents using PET
Synthesis of 124I-labelled proteins
Working knowledge of PET and MRI imaging, including data
analysis
Good communication and writing skills
