Try installing Java 6 from Apple, available at
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572Or download the version of ImageJ bundled with Java 8, available at
http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.htmlIf you do get ImageJ or Fiji running with Java 8, use the Help>Update ImageJ command to upgrade to the daily build, which works around a nasty Java 8 bug on Macs that causes ImageJ to hang when using the "Channels” dialog to change the composite image display mode.
