Hi all,
For a course in image processing, I develop small puzzle games to explore features of ImageJ in a funny way (To reach next level, you must find out a URL hidden in images). They are available at http://www.u-bordeaux1.fr/crazybiocomputing/ip/index.html. If you are interested, please let me know and/or send feedback. Thanking you in advance. Jean-Christophe Taveau |
Dear Jean-Christophe,
In principle this is very interesting, in the practice I went to the web site it is not obviosu what you have to do to. This is my feedback Sincerely Marialuisa Malosio > From: jc jeesay <[hidden email]> > Reply-To: ImageJ Interest Group <[hidden email]> > Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2008 09:38:43 +0100 > To: "[hidden email]" <[hidden email]> > Conversation: Puzzle games for ImageJ > Subject: Puzzle games for ImageJ > > Hi all, > > For a course in image processing, I develop small puzzle games to explore > features of ImageJ in a funny way (To reach next level, you must find out a > URL hidden in images). Can you explain? > > Thanks, > Wilhelm For the first level (Colors), you have to click in the taskbar to open the various buttons and build a puzzle giving you the following sentence: 'Type in your web browser, congratulations.html'. Then in your web browser, add this word to the current web address (to reach the next level): http://www.u-bordeaux1.fr/crazybiocomputing/ip/image/congratulations.html This is only an introductory game to understand the aim of each level (find out an URL or fill a textfield). Second puzzle game, just a clue: click on the waste basket :-) and use the color dialog box (simulated in my java applet). This kind of funny approach is a good way to show specific problems encountered in image processing (see level about noise where you have salt and pepper, periodic noise, etc.) > > > -- > Dr. Wilhelm BURGER > | FH OÖ / Hagenberg > | Medientechnik und -design / Digitale Medien > | Softwarepark 11 > | A-4232 Hagenberg, Austria > | +43 (0)7236 3888-2110 (Tel) > | +43 (0)7236 3888-99 (Fax) > | +43 (0)664 461 3238 (mobile) > | mailto:[hidden email] > | http://staff.fh-hagenberg.at/burger > | www.imagingbook.com > > > > > |

The first puzzle works, but when I type in the URL (knowing that it must be relative to the current URL), it tries to load an applet that requires Java6. Ciao, Dscho |

Some are quite tricky! Level 2 [task 1] is either too difficult or does not work under linux. Have you tested with firefox 3? G. |

However, only the last puzzle game is saved and can be automatically retrieved by clicking on the 'Load previous session' button in the main web page. Jean-Christophe Taveau. Jean-Christophe. |

Does anything happen when you click on the trash can in the lower right corner as Jean-Christophe suggests? Note that you have to double-click per the suggestion the Trash can gives you ^_~ > G. > Pariksheet |

Hi Jean-Christophe,
What's the http dirname for the monochrome puzzle in Level 2? My tries of putting an answer in the same directory as the puzzle or it's parent directory keep giving me "DOCUMENT INEXISTANT" -Pariksheet |
Hi,
if you speak about level #1 puzzle #3 (with a black image), this is always the same procedure: you keep the dirname. In this case, the answer is something like: ...crazybiocomputing/ip/mono/?????.html Hope that helps. Jean-Christophe. PS: Just a clue, PMID is a PubMed IDentifier 2008/11/5 Pariksheet Nanda <[hidden email]> > Hi Jean-Christophe, > > What's the http dirname for the monochrome puzzle in Level 2? > My tries of putting an answer in the same directory as the puzzle or > it's parent directory keep giving me "DOCUMENT INEXISTANT" > > -Pariksheet > |

I am using stackreg, and I found that at one point int he stack it "lost" the
alignment. I ran the offending adjacent slices though turboreg, and found that it aligned them correctly. It turns out that the alignment is correct when using turboreg its "accurate" mode, but in the "fast" mode it reproduces the problem I found with stackreg (as expected, since stackreg runs turboreg). I tried to hack stackreg to run turboreg with the "accurate" option set, but I have not been able to find in the turboreg docs or in its API how to do that. I suppose I could go into turboreg and force it to run in accurate mode, but first I am wondering if I am missing something obvious and much less brutal.
