Quantification of cellular networks

Dear ImageJ users,

our research group is interested in quantifying the extent of vascular
network formation. I would greatly appreciate whether you could suggest a
software/program/plugin for ImageJ that can count and calculate area of
the "branches" of such cellular networks.

I allready worked on this kind of questions.
The biological test was the outspread of vascular structures from  
aorta explants.
The procedure used to analyze this is allredy described in the  
litterature and can be performed with imageJ.
