Question about downgrade ImageJ

Jhonatan Ramos
Hi, I'm Jhonatan Felix from Brazil and I have a question about downgrade.
Well, I'm using imageJ and I want to use a plugin which just works in the
version 1.43. So, I want to know how I can downgrade to version 1.43,
because in my ImageJ I can just downgrade to version 1.48.
Thank you. Regards.

You will find an archive of older ImageJ jar files here:
http://wsr.imagej.net/jars/
Just download the version you want, rename to ij.jar and put it in the ImageJ folder, replacing the existing ij.jar. You don't need to downgrade java.

Re: Question about downgrade ImageJ

Fred Damen
For those who have ImageJ installed in a non-ImageJ standard way, e.g.,
from a package manager:

Plugins>Utilities>ImageJ Properties
find the line beginning with
java.class.path:
the jar file that you obtain needs replace the first file on this line.

In my case on Fedora 31 from the default repository
/usr/share/java/imagej.jar

Note that if your plugin that specifically needs 1.43 depends on plugins
that came with 1.43 then you will need install these in the directory on
the line begingng with:
IJ.getDir("plugins):

Or instead of downgrading, just install a zip file, into a nonstandard
place, from:
https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download/zips/
albeit seems windows specific.  The command in the run file seems like it
would work on all platforms, YMMV.
