Hello,

In the past 2 weeks, I have noticed that Fiji takes a few minutes to start up.  By contrast, ImageJ takes about 10 sec.  Has any of you observed this bizarre behaviour of Fiji?  For your information, I run Fiji on a MBP retina, OS 10.9.5, 2.6 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM.

 Would you mind submitting a Fiji bug report
<http://imagej.net/Report_a_Bug>? This behavior sounds unusual, and the
"Help > Report a Bug" feature will tell us more about your installation
details (how up to date it is, what update sites are enabled). I personally
can not reproduce this issue on my mac.. Fiji boots up in a couple of
seconds.

It is very likely a network issue with the Updater checking for updates. Do
you know if you are behind an unusually restrictive firewall? Or did
something change in the network configuration two weeks ago?

Thank you for your suggestions.  I am not aware of any change in my network connection.  I will check if I could reproduce the same issue at home.  Meanwhile, I submitted the bug report as you suggested.
