I really do not like the default reply-to settings of this mailing list...

From
http://132.187.25.13/ij3d/?page=User_FAQs&category=Documentation#4adjslice
(accessible via http://3dviewer.neurofly.de/, click on User FAQs):

The position of the three slices can be changed. To do so, click on ->
Edit -> Adjust slices. A dialog opens, which lets you adjust interactively
the position of each of the three slices.

There exist also keyboard shortcuts to adjust the slices: hold one of the
x, y, and z key pressed and use either the arrow keys or mouse scrolling
to adjust the slices.

To hide a slice, hold one of the x, y or z key pressed and hit the 'space'
bar.

Ciao,
Johannes

We can discuss this more off-list if you would like.  The default has been to reply-to list (for a long time) so that answers to questions are archived and can be easily searched (whether through nabble or any other program).  For example "orthoslice" returns 13 posts over the past 4 years, none of which directly answer the question below, so your link and answer are definitely appreciated.  I've been part of projects that set up a [hidden email] or [hidden email] which are essentially listserv lists where the reply-to is individual and only project maintainers are subscribers.  This approach can also be useful for specific problems.

My personally preferred way is to have Reply-to-all be the default. With
the current settings, cross-posts (which do make sense from time to time!)
are just not treated right.

Also, some of us get 50+ mails per day, and by necessity these mails have
to be prioritized, an established technique being to read the ones first
that are either To:ed or Cc:ed to you.

Having said that, I still prefer Reply-to-list over Reply-to-sender as a
default (the latter being truly horrible in terms of the use of the time
of those who answer questions: private mails can never be found by others
to learn from).

Ciao,
Johannes
