Region growing plugins?

I am looking for region growing plugins. In particular I am interesting
that ability to utilize both gray level and edge information for segmentation when some seeds within regions and on background a known.

 


Closest thing I found so far are Connected Threshold and Segmentation
by Active Contours plugins by Thomas Boudier.




A Java/C/C++ code that could be turned into a plugin would
be nice too.
