Roi saved within tiff file?

Hi,

I don't know whether it's a bug or a feature, but some of my tiff files have circular roi's (which I created myself) that are somehow embedded in the file. They don't show up in the Roi manager and I can't remove or edit them. Moving the file to another folder doesn't solve the problem, so it seems that somehow the roi's are saved within the file. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

If you have Roi's in the Roi Manager while saving the .tiff image and have the "Show All" checkbox checked in the Roi Manager, then the Roi's will be saved as an overlay.

If you do not want to have an overlay, delete the Roi's in the Roi Manager before you save the .tiff file or simply uncheck the "Show All" option in the Roi Manager.

Ah I see I didn't know that! Is there a way to delete the overlay afterwards? It's not a big deal if there isn't though...
Thank you for your answer!

No problem :-)!

You can use Image->Overlay->Remove Overlay from the imageJ menu.
