We have several Epson Perfection V750 Pro scanners (each connected to different PC's) and none of them produce exactly the same tif file output (bulbs probably age over time, etc.). We do clean them periodically.
I've used a Stouffer 21 step reflection calibration target and went through the procedure here:
http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/docs/examples/calibration/ ,but it had no effect on the newly scanned files that we open and process in ImageJ. I did select global calibration at the end.
Am I missing something? Seems like this would be similar to bringing in images from different cameras, microscopes, etc.
Next step in my mind is to create an ICC profile for each scanner and use the bundled SilverFast software to apply it. Ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Dave Teal
