"Snap to Edge" Line Measurement

furqanalishah
Hi,

I would like to measure non-contiguous sections along the perimeter, on a SEM image. I have "filled" everything around my main area of interest; and by using the wand tracing tool (legacy, 0 tolerance), I can reliably select the entire perimeter. I want to measure how much of the perimeter is one of two types, say type A or type B. Is there some way (or some plugin) that will enable the line selection tool to "snap to edge" along the perimeter, or automatically edge-detect?

I have figured one way by carefully free-hand selecting the "segment" of the perimeter that I want to measure, and use "Process --> Find Edges". And then if I use wand tracer tool (legacy, 0 tolerance) on that "found edge", and analyze that, I get a perimeter value "x". Now (x-2)/2 gives a "length" value. But this is taking too long, and perhaps not very accurate.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thank you :)
