Sphero-annealed carbon steel microstructure

Basically, spheroids show up as little "O"s, where the inside of the "O" is the same color as the outside. The problem is, the borders aren't complete all the time, so they can look more like "C"s (not quite a full circle). Is there a way for me to analyze these where they'll be recognized as full, circular particles, and not just "C"s and "O"s?
