The Senior Imaging Scientist provides high-level, technical expertise in optical imaging, image analysis & processing, and instrumentation evaluation & development as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a multi-user microscopy facility. Responsibilities include:

Providing bioinformatics and biostatistics support for microscopy based investigation by enabling the efficient collection, storage, analysis, and dissemination of research data and results. Exhibiting a theoretical understanding of sophisticated microscopy methods and the practical expertise to apply these methods to biomedical experimentation. Evaluating current and proposed instrumentation and maintaining knowledge in current and emerging imaging techniques and the associated preparation protocols. Assisting in the maintenance of microscopy equipment and implementing quality control and assurance assessments for equipment performance. Developing novel imaging protocols and devices to answer unmet needs of facility users.



Job Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Biology, Biophysics, Physics, Engineering or a related field required. PhD preferred.



A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant and productive post-degree work experience with a Master's degree is required.

OR

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant and productive post-degree work experience with a PhD in an appropriate scientific field is required.
