Stack -> Montage

Hello everyone,

I simply wondered if there might be a need for this elsewhere too. I
want to create an image montage (ContactSheet) from a stack where both,
first and last slice are shown. For this I would use a static colums/row
matrix, i.e. 4 columns and 6 rows.

Reducing Columns/Rows and keeping the increment 1 would only show the
first 24 slices of my stack.

What I would like to have:
Perhaps something like an (auto increment) to show 24 Frames where first
and last slice are shown beside some (22) slices in-between.

I tried CustomMontage.jar which only works with up to 30 slices and
wouldn't work for me.
Does anyone know a macro or plugin, which will do this?
