Toolbar tools scrambled after updating ATI video driver

kacollins
Over the last few weeks, I have tried to update my ATI catalyst video driver to the latest version (8.01.01.1235). My OS is Windows 7 64-bit. Each time I install the update, the ImageJ toolbar icons are scrambed afterwards (see screen capture below). I have used ImageJ on this machine for several years and have never seen this problem. I am currently running ImageJ 1.45s with java 1.6.0_22 (64 bit). Without changing anything else, I have reverted to the previous ATI driver and all is fine. I have been through this cycle twice now and IJ always works with the old ATI driver, but is broken with the new driver. Surely this is an ATI problem, but I don't even know where to begin with them. Any ideas? Has anyone else seen this problem? Also, if anyone has an idea of something I might be doing wrong or suggestions of something I could try, please let me know.

Definitely looks like a graphics driver issue.

I am currently running ImageJ 1.45s with java 1.6.0_22 (64 bit).

Did you try with the latest Java 6 (6u30)? What about with Java 7?

If that doesn't fix it, it may simply be a bug in the latest ATI driver.
You could file a bug with them, and/or wait for a fix.

Curtis
