Definitely looks like a graphics driver issue.
I am currently running ImageJ 1.45s with java 1.6.0_22 (64 bit).

Did you try with the latest Java 6 (6u30)? What about with Java 7?
If that doesn't fix it, it may simply be a bug in the latest ATI driver.
You could file a bug with them, and/or wait for a fix.
