analyze particles

Todd Hartley
Hi List,

I am working with the analyze particles in ImageJ and am have a problem.  I
created a simple 8 bit gray scale image of spots and holes for testing.
When I run analyze particles it finds the same number of particles when I
have selected include holes as when I uncheck it.  I would like it exclude
any holes and only count solid particles.  Maybe my definition of a hole is
different then the software.  Any help would be appreciated.

The "Include Holes" checkbox in the Analyze Particles dialog box refers
to holes inside of particles. The particle analyzer will not find more
particles when this option is selected but the area of particles with
interior holes will increase.
