bUnwarpJ (consistent elastic registration) v2.5 is released

Ignacio Arganda Carreras
Dear all,

I just updated bUnwarpJ (consistent elastic image registration) to a new
BETA version (2.5).

http://biocomp.cnb.csic.es/~iarganda/bUnwarpJ/

The main changes are:

- New parameter: image subsampling factor (2^sub_factor). It allows
working with subsampled versions of the images so large images are now
supported. Whenever the images are subsampled the different registration
steps are shown in the Log window.

- Parallelization: many processes have been parallelized, so the
registration should be faster, especially on large images.

- Output window: the output window during the registration process is
now never bigger than 1024x1024 pixels to save time updating it.

- Scripting: alignImagesBatch has been added to bUnwarpJ_.java to allow
calling the registration method in a complete batch mode.

- Bugs: some minor bugs have been fixed, for example the point-rois are
now converted and displayed as landmarks at the very same moment the
plugin is called.

- Unidirectional registration: a new registration mode has been added.
It is called "Mono" and allow registering only from source to target, it
is much faster than the bidirectional one, but you just get the
transformation results of one direction.

Be aware it is a BETA version and, although it's being tested by many
people now, you may find some bugs. Please feel free to contact me with
any doubt, problem or suggestion you could have about it.

Suggestions about how to improve the website and the user manual will be
very appreciated too!

With best regards,

ignacio
