hello,
i'm looking for ccd camera, it can be a webcam which is compatible with imagej. resolution preferred is 640x480 pix, up to 24 frames/s. does anyone knows cheap models working under imagej? after that, it would be good also to know the plugin which saves image sequence as a stack with displayed number of frame and time when frame was captured. any suggestions? thanks in advance greetings, jarek |
Hi,
I´m actually working on a plugin that accesses cams through the JMF (Java Media framework) and so should work with most (cheap) webcams, but had to interrupt the development process for some time, so no plugin yet, but I already have a simple Java grab program that proofs the principle and works with a Medion 9388 cam (640x480 15fps) and a ultra-cheap "PC CAM" (only true 355x288, 30 fps). Actually most webcams do not give full 25/30fps at 640x480, due to USB 1.1 limitations, but at work I have a USB 2.0 webcam I bought through the Conrad electronic dealer in Germany that gets full frame rate at "true" 640x480. I have not yet checked it, but If it works with the JMF demo prog it later should also work with the plugin. I will check next week and report, also the exact type spec of that cam - OK? I have not yet layed out the final "design" of the plugin interface, but I will add the ability to create a time-stamped stack.
