cell wall thickness

Alerding, Anne B.
Hi,

I would like to analyze, in a cross-section of a plant stem, the proportion of area that is:

1.       Tissue types (e.g. cortex, pith, xylem, phloem)

2.       Cell wall thickness for each tissue type

# 1 is easy to figure out
#2 I have no idea how to do this

I'm interested in learning how you may have conquered these two types of measurements, using ImageJ or another software program?

Thanks!

Anne

Hi,
If you have been able to segment the different structures in your
images, you can meaure structure thickness using the "local thickness"
plugin from Bob Dougherty. This is available as standerd within the Fiji
distribution of ImageJ.
