check plugins directory

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone has made a windows script to check if the
plugins directory exists and if not select another one. This is to use
in classrooms where  by default the "common" plugins directory is used
unless a user directory exists for personal use. I know how to to do it
in unix but not a clue in dos ;-) . Thanks.
