Hi all,
As you will know, Australia is a very large country and postgraduate
education in regional areas often suffers from tyranny of distance
especially in musculoskeletal medicine specialties.
We are trying to create "virtual anatomy" projects that match with
ultrasound images as an educational resource. We hope to create this
resource for trainees, specialists and general practitioners in rural and
regional Australia. There have been some similar projects that I have been
aware of; USRA lumbar spine including sonoanatomy. This is a very nice
example and we have started there.
I realise that this may not be the correct group but we have to start from
somewhere. There are some very smart people in diverse fields whose emails I
have been reading who may have some knowledge or links of programs and/or
resources that may help us.
We are looking for open source projects and/or resources in the following
areas:
1. Anatomy-especially tendons-this has been my project using image J
2. Open source projects that link various imaging modalities such as virtual
anatomy and videos of ultrasound.
3. Any hints or advice so that we do not reinvent the wheel and waste
valuable project money.
I realise that this may be handy incorrect forum but as I said above, we
have to start somewhere. We are hard at work looking within Australian
academic institutions, medical colleges et cetera and have already
established some very useful international links.
Thanking you in anticipation
Regards
Simon
