expressing distance as a percentage in CT scans

Andrew Phillips
Dear All,

I am a new user to ImageJ and I am trying to get my head round it for a research project.  I would be really grateful for some advice.  I am analysing the density (in Hu) in a straight line across a cross section of bone on a series of ct images from multiple patients, using this to create profile plots of distance and density.  The area being analysed remains constant but as different patients are used in each slice the distance varies.  Is there a way of normalising the distance, i.e. expressing it as a percentage rather than the absolute distance in mm, so that as I perform a plot profile the y axis will remain bone density (Hu) but the x axis will be a percentage of the total distance?

Thanks for your help
