filtering a stack only in the z direction

Philippe GENDRE
Hello dear List,

Is there any solution for filtering a stack in the z (or t direction) and
only in this direction ?

Best regards,

Philippe Gendre

Hello Philippe,

You can use the Z-project function, and scroll trough your slices via a
macro. Not all filters are available but you have min, max, mean,
median. Hope this helps.

You can swap the Z-axis with the X or Y axes using Image>Stacks>reslice,
then try to restrict the filter to the effective "Z" axis of your
resulting stack. This will let you do things like apply a gaussian
filter in X-Z or Y-Z. The best solution probably dependends on the
nature of the filter that you want to apply to you data though.

Hope that helps to get you started.

Hello Damon and Thomas,

Thanks for your answer.

Reslice could to be a good starting point for me.

Best,

Philippe
