flexibile full width "x" maximum

Hello everyone,

I am interested in a macro or plugin with flexible full width "x" specified maximum for a line analyzed with the "plot profile" tool).

My case scenario is to measure the width of a fluid filled canal in bone on a CT image.  The plot profile tool reveals a dip because bone is high in Hounsfield units while the canal is low.  The usual convention would be to measure at full width half maximum, but I may need to go higher or lower depending on how real world measurements relate to the CT measurements. Please keep in mind that the function would need to make use of interpolation since the canal is small and approaches the CT detector width.



Previous posts on fwhm assume a peak rather than a dip, and don't permit a way to flexibly specify the percentage at which to calculate the width.
