I have an image that is supposed ot be a closed ring, but in practice
will often have some gaps. here is an example:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bytu294eIohjTTluZkVFUkdSZ1k/view?usp=sharingWhen the gap is only a few pixels, I can use morphological closing.
However, for larger gaps,
closing enough times to bridge the gaps severely distorts the image. Is
there a morphological function in the MorphoJ or in Gabriel's
morphology collection that will close these gaps more or less within the
narrow gap.
It occurs to me that I can measure the EDM of the background, and
perhaps only fill in areas where the distance is less than a certain
amount to two or more objects. However, I suspect that this may already
exist in one of the morphological functions in Fiji.
Thanks in advance
