Hi Vanessa,
as the name implies, RGB images have only 3 color channels, R, G and B.
Thus, if you convert an image to RGB, you will never be able to recover 4 independent channels from the RGB.
So you will have to reformulate your question:
Is there any stitching plugin that works with composite images having 4 channels?
It seems that some stitching plugins of Fiji can do this (but I have no experience with them, and anyhow I don't know what exactly you need)
