importing wmv files

Jared Fletcher
I'll apologize in advance if there is an incredibly obvious answer to
this question, but I'm fairly new to ImageJ...

I am attempting to import a .wmv file in ImageJ using the "file-import
using quicktime" command and I get an error message:
"open movie failed: -2048"

Is there a plug-in I need to download in order to view this video and/or
to convert this wmv file to avi format (of which I have no problems
opening)?

Thanks in advance.
Jared

What platform are you on?? On MacOS X, you can get WMV support in
QuickTIme if you install the (free) FLip4Mac WMV codecs for QuickTime.

AVI is tricky too actually. It's a container format. You can use many
many different codcs inside the avi container (including WMV
acutally) and I doubt that you'll be able to natively play all of them.
