increase resolution

Hi,
I would like to increase the resolution of images using Image J. Does  
anyone know how to increase the resolution of an image using image J.

Sehmus,

if increased resolution means to gain information that is not present in
the original image, then it will evidently be impossible.

If increased resolution means additional pixels with values gained by
interpolation between originally existing pixels than this is possible,
e.g. by enlarging the original image.

Dear Wayne and those who may suffer like me!

We were informed with the latest ImageJ-version 1-49n that

        "ImageJ now requires Java 6 or later."

I understand that IT is moving on and that that holds for ImageJ as well...

What I don't really understand is, why this essential change happens
with a small version change (from 49m to 49n). Why could this
requirement not wait for a major version change, e.g. from 49 to 50?

As you may have guessed, I'm still working on a MacPro with two
PPC-processors under OSX 10.4.11. There is _no_ way to update to Java 6.

I very much should like to see an ImageJ-version with as much
bugs/regressions corrected that does not require Java 6.
(ImageJ-version 1-49n corrects regressions but needs Java 6 which is
less than suboptimum.)

New features that require Java 6 are a different story, but there should
be a final ImageJ-version that runs with Java 5 and that has all known
bugs corrected.

Is this possible?

The latest ImageJ daily build (1.49o7) should work with Java 5 but it is likely that ImageJ 1.50 and later will require Java 6.

Dear Wayne, dear ImageJ-community,

I want to take the opportunity to thank you for the steady help with and
the support of ImageJ!

I think it is a good idea to end Java 5 compatibility of ImageJ with a
major release version (50 would be an excellent occasion) that can be
regarded as essentially bug-free. Maybe a later minor version of this
final Java 5 compatible version should be possible in case severe bugs
show up; but well-understood: I'm not favoring branching at all.

Furthermore, the final Java 5 compatible ImageJ could perhaps be
accessible from the IJ-Website in a legacy-section.
