measurements on live image?

Hello,

I need to take several measurements (length, width for example) of microfossils and wonder if there is a plugin that might help me doing that.
Currently with the standard ImageJ version I save an image of each microfossil and then make the measurements...but this is a terribly long procedure given that I have several hundred microfossils to measure.

I wondered if the were any plugins that might allow taking measurements on live images?
Could the TWAIN plugin (Wayne Rasband) be helpful? Has anybody any experience with that plugin?
