Dear ImageJers,
I have installed ImageJ 1.44h with Java1.6.0_21 on a 64 bits Windows XP computer with 8 GB of RAM.
The config file is as follows:
.
jre\bin\javaw.exe
-Xmx640m -cp ij.jar ij.ImageJ
ImageJ will not run by doubleclicking on the microscope icon or by running "ImageJ" from the cmd window as an adminstrator. The error message is, "Could not launch ImageJ as configured. Please check the settings and try again." I did delete the ImageJ.cfg file and after the program autoconfigures, it returns the same error.
Doubleclicking on ij.jar does run the software and the Help>About ImageJ... window says, "1714k of 640MB <1%)". However, the program runs out of memory at 240MB and returns the message as follows:
<Out of memory>
<All available memory (247MB) has been>
The About ImageJ window reports "240MB of 640MB (37%)" is used, but the program will not work. (BTW, it crashed at 64 MB with Java 1.6.0_16 downloaded from the ImageJ site.)
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
Thank you.
