move overlay

Is it possible to move an overlay containing many roi's all at once? As in if I could drag the entire overlay over to the right or left?

Re: move overlay

You could use Image > Overlay > To ROI Manager. In the ROI Manager select all the ROIs and go to More>> OR and directly Add (short cut t) this selection to the manager. The new entry in the ROI manager contains all the ROIs from the overlay which can now be moved when you select the last ROI in the manager and use one of the selection tools from the toolbar. You have to select inside one of the ROIs. Once you have moved the ROIs select Update in the ROI manager to save the new location. You can now also delete all the other entries in the ROI Manager.

yes i came across this solution yesterday when i was messing around with imageJ but is there a way to keep those ROIs separate? I understand I can also split them all again but that would force me to rename all the ROIs as well as they become a couple hundred of new ROIs

You don't need to combine the ROIs as long as you know the amount of pixels
you would like to translate your ROIs.
You can use the method described by Kees to add all ROIs to the ROI
Manager. Once in the list you simply select all and then choose ►More
►Translate... and specify the x and y translation you would like to perform.
this keeps all ROIs separate.

Correct. But if you don't know the translation and have to combine the ROIs you can use More > Split to separate the ROIs again.
