I am looking to hire a programmer for simple ImageJ macros/plugins.  I have
several tasks I have been unable to complete the first of which is assigning
a known coordinate to a pixel and having ImageJ's coordinate system change
accordingly.

I think Image->Properties->Origin is what you want, unless you need to
do something other than translation to the coordinate system.  You can
use the macro recorder to find out the function you need.
